Homes of Hope

Transitional Housing Program

A church-based ministry of Love INC dedicated to offering hope to the homeless of Penn Manor

A Program Overview

The mission of Penn Manor Homes of Hope (HOH) is to “mobilize the Church to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ through transitional housing and supportive services.”

The transitional housing program offers families a 3-6 month stay in a church-sponsored, fully furnished home.  Once in the home, families are connected to the following:

1)  Church care teams offering mentoring

2)  Professional case management through Tabor Community Services (continuing for 12-18 months)

3)  Existing community and church-based resources through Love INC’s Clearinghouse

Love INC serves as the ministry’s organizational umbrella, interviewing and screening prospective residents, providing training for church care teams and coaching the local HOH committee.

 How You Can Get Involved

  • Serve on a mentor team for a family in transition
  • Donate furniture to the HOH Furniture Bank which helps graduating residents furnish their new apartments
  • Grab your life group, family or friends and clean one of the apartment units during the transition between residents
  • Organize a donation of non-perishable food items or cleaning supplies for the home
  • Donate financially to support the utility costs of the home (residents pay $100/month with additional costs supported by local churches and individual donors)
  • Volunteer your professional services: car mechanics, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, HVAC technicians
