We love all people at Manor Church, especially those affected by disabilities! Regardless of what you can or cannot do, we want to know you, and we want to be sure you have equal opportunity to know Jesus Christ and to worship God with us.
We recognize that one out of every five persons in our community has a disability, but only a few of them attend or are involved in a church. We want to change this! Our goal is to identify and break down any barriers that keep people with disabilities and their families from being able to fully participate in the life of our church.
And yes, our church facility is fully compliant with the American with Disabilities Act.
Opportunities at Manor Church include:
Disability Awareness - We seek to educate and create awareness in our church family by highlighting disability issues through sermon illustrations, interviews, media, and special events like our annual Disability Awareness Sunday.
Inclusion - One-on-one mentors are available for those who need personal assistance in order to participate in a class or so family members can attend worship services.
Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Manor is equipped with a hearing assist system. Headsets are available at the Information Desk. We also provide an interpreter for our entire 10:30 service.
Journeys - Journeys is a monthly event that provides fun and fellowship for single adults affected by disability.
Real Joy Respite - Real Joy Respite is a monthly free service for 3-12 year-old children with disabilities and their siblings. On these special Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. we do crafts, activities, games, singing and more! Find out more about by clicking on the link to the left.
Day of Pampering - This annual outreach is a day to love, serve, and honor moms of children with disabilities and wives of husbands with disabilities. We transform our church facility into a five star restaurant and spa. We pamper their hearts, bodies and spirits so they leave ready for their next 364 days. Join us, as many volunteers are needed to serve these dear ladies.
Support Groups - We help people get connected to support groups in the Lancaster area for moms of children with disabilities, wives of husbands with disabilities, and singles with disabilities. These groups are provided through the ministries of Joni and Friends Eastern Pennsylvania.
Outreach and Service Opportunities - We partner with other organizations that provide training, service opportunities, resources and support for people and families affected by disabilities.
